The National REACH Coalition (NRC) in collaboration with Arizona Telemedicine Program at the Southwest Telehealth Resource Center and the Department of Health Promotion Sciences at the University of Arizona’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health invites you to join us for a FREE webinar:

Flipping the Paradigm: Community Leading Health Equity Efforts.
What is the role of health departments, universities and the CDC in this new paradigm to ensure forward momentum in addressing health disparities in the current COVID-19 crisis and it’s aftermath?

Thursday, August 27th, 1:30-2:45pm (EST), 11:30am-12:45pm (MST), 10:30-11:45am (PST)

The disparate outcomes of the COVID-19 pandemic have laid bare the health disparities that have long plagued our communities of color. The mission of the National REACH Coalition (NRC) is to highlight the work being done in the communities addressing racial and ethnic health disparities; while ensuring that those communities are providing leadership in the national dialogue and call to action on eliminating health disparities and establishing health equity. Amplifying the work REACH grantees are doing in their respective communities is one of the key focus areas of the NRC. For more than 20 years these communities have been the cornerstone of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) efforts to promote health equity and eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities.

At the FREE webinar on Thursday, August 27th our guests will discuss disparities and COVID-19, the leadership role of our communities in addressing them and the roles of public health departments, academia and the CDC working with those communities.

Guest speakers:

Daniel Dawes, JD, Director of the Satcher Health Leadership Institute, Executive Director of Health Policy, Associate Lead for Government Relations and Professor of Health Law and Policy at Morehouse School of Medicine; and author of The Political Determinants of Health and 150 Years of Obamacare.
